Good services, nice food. Really friendly!
Expensive massage, were not that special. Far distance to beach.
Staff friendliness and care for children. Very relaxing stay. Homy feel. The extra attention.
Swimming pool, food, a personal very frendly, nice nature around
Train nearby from Hotel. Every night and early morning.
- the friendliness of the staff - the pool - the food - the familiar atmosphere
The Villa's are great. Only 9 villas so very quiet and relaxing. Staff are very attentive happy to bring you coffee in the morning so you can sit on your veranda watching the chipmunks playing. Food is good with alot of fresh seafood. A very good aryuveda clinic on site which we used most days for total relaxation. Lovely beach just across the road and a 15 min walk along beach to thier sister property where you can lay on sun loungers and have lunch and drinks right on the ocean. They can arrange tours for you and have tuktuks there to take you into town for only 200 Srp.
It is right by the railway line, last train in the evening is around 8pm with the horn sounding, very noisy. Training in the morning around 6am although had on earlier. You get used to it and you can catch up on sleep by the pool if you need. Didn't really put us off.
Greenery is excellent. Neat and clean pool. Good architech. walking distance from beach.
A bit distant from village centre.
Spacious, clean rooms. Well maintained. Close to beach (but doesn't have abutting beach). Staff at lower levels very friendly and helpful.
Top-level staff tends to forget everyone else when they see tourists who are white and possessing dollars/euros. You are completely forgotten then and it becomes a struggle to get some attention and service at the restaurant. Food is average and overpriced.
Swimming pool great - good size and clean. Also the plants and environment. Also the big balconies Breakfasts very good.
The Fan in the non a/c room is not over the bed so if it was really hot you wouldn't really feel it - need ideally also a stand fan the other side. A little bit expensive TV channels disappointing. WiFi didn't work very well.
I was there for 2 nights with other 3 friends .. The hotel is a little bit off the main road, but a walking distance from it & the beach .. It's a quiet hotel with lovely clean pool that you can use any time of the day/night .. Rooms are spacious, but furniture is kinda old, yet okay .. Bathrooms are kinda clean. yet they could've used the space to build a proper bath tub .. Hot water is available all the time, & there are no insects in the room unless you keep your balcony door opened, especially at night .. Breakfast was lovely, & the hotel has a massage place .. We did a complimentary 10 minutes foot massage, which was okay ..
As I mentioned above, I prefer if they could build a proper bath tub instead of the shower .. Plus, if they could buy NEW towels; as it was obvious that the towels we used are OLD!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They ensured my husband got to watch his football matches. Our last night at the hotel I mentioned to one of the waiters that I wanted to buy tea. The next morning after our taxi picked my husband and I up, they told us that they were taking us to buy tea on the way to the airport! They took us to a wonderful tea shop :-). Our room was very clean and a good size. Our balcony was very large so we were able to sit outside even when it was chucking down with rain ( we went in monsoon season) the bed was very comfortable, although I am not a fan of sleeping only with a sheet over me. The pool was a good size and was cleaned daily. The food at the Villa was delicious. The breakfast consisted of juice, coffee/tea, toast and jam/marmalade, eggs of your choice, bacon and sausages.
There isn't anything we didn't really like, just personal preference- we were provided with small, thin towels, one each. The Villa has a Ayurveda centre, charging services in Euros, yet the staff seemed to consist of local woman and a man who seemed to be in charge of them. Had the centre had a more professional look eg certificates displayed, holistic practitioner uniforms, and areas kept new and refreshed I would have probably used it every day.
I was travelling with a friend, and we really enjoyed the social spaces at the hotel as a way to meet other travellers. There's a rooftop dining area with a spectacular view of the lake and surrounding hillside which serves as a dining room and informal living room. Each group of 3 rooms also has a sitting area outside if you want to get out of your room and hang out. The owner Jude is indefatigable and was there from 5.30 in the morning when he gave us a packed breakfast for an early morning train trip, until late at night hosting in th restaurant and helping arrange tours. We really enjoyed our stay at Panchi Villa
The bathroom in my room was quite small and not of a great standard, but everything worked fine
Excellent value for money. Clean spacious room with large balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely swimming pool and well kept gardens. Close to beach. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Panchi Villas.
Nothing everything was excellent
Great rooms . Quite beach within walking distance.
First room on ground level lacks privacy . Dinner was lousy. Located far from Bentota central - lkr250 one way.
nice big room , nice pool , nice staff, nicefood, good massages available
train line bit of a pain , hotel expensive
We loved our week at this hotel. It is new and very well kept, staff at all pleasant things done for us, notament Sampat at the restaurant that is very efficient and full of good ideas. We would stay still enjoy the beautiful pool at our next visit to Sri Lanka.
